ABOUT VIMA

The main ideas of the Virtuoso International Music Awards (VIMA) are to support musical creativity and motivate talented artists, as well as to promote continuous development and popularise classical music in contemporary society, showing its strength. It is an online music competition that offers the opportunity to show musicians’ talent and interpretive skills worldwide.

This platform offers a great opportunity to explore the possibilities of classical music. It is also a way for musicians make themselves known to an international audience and, in the case of the youngest musicians, to make their debut before an international jury.

The VIMA 2024 are open to vocalists, instrumentalists (piano, string, wind and percussion instruments) and interpreters of chamber music of all nationalities. At VIMA we value artists with broad artistic vision and stage presence. Our main objective is to discover up-and-coming young artists and give them support in launching/help them to launch their international careers.

The videoclips are judged by renowned interpreters, distinguished music professors and other personalities with an international profile. The Virtuoso International Music Awards recognise creativity, a tradition of excellence in interpretation and imagination in choice of repertory.

The Gala Concert will take place in London in January 2025 at St James’s Church, Piccadilly.

About St James’s Church, Piccadilly

St James’s Church, Piccadilly is a Christopher Wren Church dating from the 1680’s. It is a Grade 1 Listed building. William Blake was baptised here and the Church has historic musical associations with Handel, Purcell, Haydn, Mendelssohn, the pianist Therese Jansen and Leopold Stokowski.

Live concerts and recitals have been presented at the Church for over 100 years, and our music programme included up to two evening concerts per week, held between Wednesdays and Saturdays. Major soloists and orchestras have performed at St James’s Church.
